Puro - Wroclaw

Poland

Sleeper Magazine January / February 2011

London based design firm Blacksheep is working with architect APA Hubka to create Puro Wroclaw – the first in an innovative new chain of ‘budget-intelligent’ hotels being developed by Norwegian group Genfer across Poland.

According to Blacksheep, the new brand is based around “simplifying the hotel experience, without taking away any of its pleasures, with a high-tech interface, from interactive check-in to card-activated services to an ‘info wall’ for messaging and local and international news, as well as a large, highly social public space, in which visitors can eat, drink, work or socialise.”

The 102 guestroom hotel is scheduled to welcome its first guests in February 2011, and offers business and tourist clients an urban oasis with gardens, outdoor decking, city views and nearby music venues in the oldest part of the burgeoning university city.

Genfer has further Puro Hotels in the pipeline for Krakow, Poznan, Lodz, Katowice, the Tri-City area and Warsaw. Genfer intends to build eight such complexes by 2015.

The hotels boast a modern design and make use of technological innovations such as an Internet reservation service and self-service receptions. The hotels are centrally located in close proximity to restaurants, theatres, cinemas and historic buildings and monuments.
