The Wellesley Knightsbridge to feature live jazz venue

The original building housed a popular jazz club the hotel owners are now creating a new jazz room to regularly showcase established and up-and-coming jazz acts.

The Jazz Room at The Wellesley will be designed as an intimate and discreet venue in keeping with the site’s heritage. They are currently in talks with some of the jazz world’s most successful international artists.
 
The Jazz Room at The Wellesley will have 40 covers (with the lead table reserved for residents of the Penthouse Suite) and two sittings each night, pre- and post-dinner. Music-lovers can visit either sitting for drinks or dinner and also have the opportunity to enjoy the hotels adjacent offerings of The Crystal Bar with its Whisky and Cognac Wall and the intimate Oval restaurant serving Italian cuisine.

With art deco interiors, the Jazz Room at The Wellesley will give a prohibition-era feel; interior designers Fox Linton are re-creating authentic 1920s furniture and features from an original interior’s brochure from the period.

The Jazz Room at The Wellesley will be opened with the hotel in November 2012. Current plans for The Jazz Room’s launch are being finalised to ensure an exclusive international Jazz event that will establish the club back on the musical scene from its opening and continue this new chapter in the much-loved venue’s history.
