Increasing the W Portfolio in Asia Pacific, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced plans to open W Taipei hotel in late 2010, marking the debut of W Hotels Worldwide in Taiwan.
Designed by London-based G.A. Design International Ltd., the hotel will provide 405 guestrooms, two contemporary restaurants, one destination bar, the signature W lounge, rooftop WET outdoor pool deck and poolside bar, and SWEAT fitness centre. It will also feature a 365sqm Extreme Wow Suite.
Owned by Uni-President Development Corporation and Times Square International Hotel Corp, a leading conglomerate with Headquarters in Tainan, W Tapei will be the brand's seventh new property announced in the Asia Pacific region following the openings of W Seoul, W Retreat & Spa Maldives, and W Hong Kong.
"We are excited to bring the W lifestyle to Taipei's Xinyi district, another step in W's global expansion into the world's most exciting and vibrant destinations," says Eva Ziegler, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide and Le Méridien. "W Taipei will offer a contemporary take on design, fashion and music in the heart of one of the city's most vibrant districts, bringing an innovative and distinctive experience to the hotel market in Taipei."
W Hotels is on track to double its footprint to more than 50 hotels by 2011 in vibrant destinations around the world, from Paris to London; Downtown New York to Singapore; St. Petersburg to Guangzhou; and Koh Samui to Bali.
