Classical façade approved for Base2stay
25 May 2010 11:15 BST
Robert Adam’s classical design for a new 73-room hotel in Soho for base2stay has been approved by Westminster Council’s planning committee.
Following the success of the base2stay concept first launched in 2006, Founder Robert Nadler is taking the “smart luxury” to new sites throughout the UK.
The concept promises to provide stylish, comfortable, air-conditioned rooms, editing out many of the unused extras offered by traditional hotels to provide value for money.
The planning committee for the latest announcement said that the neo-classical design, built from natural stone complete with a dramatic double-height entrance and gilded statue, was “in keeping with the conservation area.”
Work is expected to start on site in early 2011.
