Accor to open two Mercures in Vietnam
21 August 2009 GMT 15:34 (Vietnam)
Two Mercure hotels will be opening soon in Vietnam: one in Hanoi, the capital city, and the other in Hue, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Charlotte Gutte, Regional Director of Sales - Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea and Japan, explained the openings: “Vietnam has needed high quality mid scale accommodation for a long time; these two hotels are a great start for both the Mercure brand in the country and for fulfilling the needs of diverse travellers to Vietnam”.
The Mercure Hanoi La Gare, which opens on September 1, 2009, reflects the history of Hanoi and its culture, while at the same time being characterised by its modernity.
Located opposite the central train station in Hanoi, just a few steps from the old quarter and the city centre, the hotel offers modern facilities in a modern setting. The hotel features 102 spacious rooms, “Le Pavillion” brasserie, a fitness centre and business centre
The Mercure Hue Gerbera, which opens on September 9, benefits from its location in the heart of a UNESCO world heritage site.
Luminous and welcoming, the hotel is located a few minutes from the historic centre of Hue, opposite the marine terminal. In addition to its 110 modern rooms, the hotel offers conference rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, “Le Calamus” restaurant, a bar lounge and a private dining room overlooking the River of Perfumes. This unique hotel is 20 minutes from Phu Bai Airport and a 5-minute walk from Dong Ba, the Citadel, the Forbidden City, pagodas and other attractions.
