Bungalow opens its doors in Long Branch, New Jersey
6 Aug 2009 GMT 16:19 (Long Branch, NJ)
Hoteliers David and Michael Barry have opened the doors to Bungalow, described as “the Jersey Shore’s first authentic boutique luxury lifestyle hotel,” and designed by Sixx Design.
Created by Ironstate Holdings, LLC, Pier Village is a Victorian-inspired mixed use community featuring more than 100,000 square feet of boutique shops and restaurants, a new boardwalk and refurbished beach, an elegant beach club, an outdoor festival plaza which hosts year-round public events, and 536 luxury rental residences all located along the oceanfront in Long Branch, NJ.
The 25,000 square foot, 24 guestroom Bungalow hotel offers views of the Atlantic Ocean and is only a short walk to the beach, where guests have full access to ‘Le Club’, a beach club complete with cabanas, a roof deck bar, lounge and pool.
There is a lounge and billiard room on the first floor, complete with a champagne bar and outdoor patio. The laid-back but stylish beach feel of the hotel is accented with contemporary accessories like lamps from Moss, surf photos by Jeff Devine, and light-filled rooms with huge bathtubs. Above the 1940s pool table hangs a feathered chandelier, and a vintage foosball table in the lobby hangs adjacent to a six foot mural of a stamp, made entirely out of buttons. Over 50 works of original art feature throughout the hotel.
The mod-meets-beach hotel décor has been carefully chosen by husband and wife duo Cortney and Robert Novogratz. The Novogratz’s are the design team behind Sixx Design, a successful building and interior design company who, along with their seven children, are currently being documented by the Bravo! channel for a show due to air early next year.
Sixx Design has brought their trademark eclectic and distinctive designs to Bungalow, resulting in the diverse looks in each of the 24 guest rooms. With options such as junior suites, oversized king bedrooms, and corner suites, guests may choose between rooms such as the Aloha, Hangloose, and Lil Pipeline guestrooms with names as unique as their décor.
