Vikram Chatwal opens first Dream Hotel in India
15 April 2009 13:27 (Cochin)
Vikram Chatwal has opened the third outpost of his international chain of Dream Hotels in Cochin alongside 800 of his closest friends.
The Cochin celebration commenced with a ribbon cutting ceremony by TKA Nair, the principal secretary to the Prime Minister, followed by a press conference and a private dinner in the hotel’s lavish spaces. Guests were treated to vibrant festivities throughout the night, which included a poolside barbeque on the rooftop terrace, and music by DJ Whosane!, who flew in from New Delhi especially for the occasion.
This first incarnation of Dream in India opens as one of the most prominent hotels in the country, accredited as a true five-star deluxe property by the Indian Ministry of Tourism. Dream Cochin features 151 guestrooms, including 50 luxury suites with access to the Club Lounge. The rooms offer a soothing respite, matching the easy breezes of the Arabian Sea. Icy hues of blue light wash the clean white rooms with a calming tone. Beds that mimic the soft, fluid texture of the Kerala clouds invite guests to take off to a peaceful slumber.
The hotel features world-class amenities that include Ayela, a gourmet Thai fusion fish market allowing guests to follow their organic seafood from the water to the table, Keshia, which offers continental fare 24 hours a day, the New York chic Highbar, and massages and treatments at Release Spa.
