Diffuse unveils porcelain candle light
18 November 2010 13:07 GMT
Diffuse has utilised the latest LED technology to create a new porcelain lighting concept known as Levitas.
Taking two years to develop, the candle-like fittings feature warm white LEDs arranged along a blade to produce a continuous radiance. Individual controllers deliver 120 lumens per unit, each powered by a safe low voltage network of support filaments barely perceptible to the naked eye.
A group of 25 elements can be arranged to seemingly float mid-air to light a surprisingly large space and bring huge efficiency benefits.
“We have been living at the cutting edge of LED technology to design and deliver a wondrous lighting effect both in terms of the structure and the light that the Levitas installation emits,” comments Jason Boatswain, Production Director and MD of Diffuse Lighting.
The gentle glow of Levitas can be seen in a video produced by Diffuse.
